National Certificate in ECE & Care (Level 3)

A course that inspires carers, parents, and educators who have a commitment to work and learn alongside children under the age of five years.

This course is accredited by the NZ Qualifications Authority and offers an introduction to unit standard based learning and qualifications at higher levels.

This is a distance learning course and students can study independently or choose to attend additional Programme Study Options subject to area office locations.

Enjoy the flexibility of 19 weeks of self-paced learning alongside a child who is either your own or in your care for no less than 15 hours per week.

Study Options

This is a Distance Learning Course. For students who live within a PORSE Area Office location, there are additional Programme Study Options available during the period of study, where you can enjoy learning alongside other adults and children.

  • PlaySchools/Tutorials
    Learning in a large group play setting with children in attendance
  • PODs (Point/Place of Difference)
    Learning in a small group setting with or without children in attendance
  • Evening Workshops
  • Learning with other adults without children in attendance.
